FAQs

  • You “need” whatever is going to aid you in becoming the best version of yourself, and therapy can fill that need. Rather than viewing it as reactive, let’s look at therapy as proactive in your self-care toolkit. Learning more about yourself, your emotions, your thoughts, and how those things impact your behaviors, your sense of self, your relationships, and the world around you.

  • During our 15 minute phone consultation, I’ll ask what brings you to therapy at this time. Why now? What is prompting our call? I’ll ask about your history and experience with therapy, if applicable, we’ll talk logistics for appointment times/dates, and I’ll answer any questions to ensure we’re a great fit moving fowawrd.

  • I usually allot an hour for our initial intake assessment. I am clinically trained, and complete a comprehensive psychiatric assessment which includes a biopsychosocial. We talk medical history, family history, symptomology , social supports, environmental impacts & stressors for example. From our intake, we create a treatment plan which includes goals, interventions, and objectives. We’ll use that as the “backbone” of our sessions.

  • To be anchored means to be grounded and rooted. Anchored mentally and emotionally; you will learn the tools to help keep you stable and connected to yourself. And others. To be aligned means to be actively working in harmony with yourself. With your values, your intuition, and your sense of self. When you are anchored and aligned, you experience growth even in the midst of stillness. Think of yourself as a tree, grounded and growing, despite all that is occurring around it.
